Cottage extension designed by mckenna + associates.

mckenna + associates Architects, Trim, Co Meath, have recently completed the renovation and extension of an existing cottage outside Trim in Co. Meath.

When we first arrived, we met a quaint 1930’s cottage stood on a 1 acre plot. This exciting project involved a sensitive reconstruction and refurbishment in addition to a striking storey and a half extension to the rear. The results are stunning.

Planning attained by mckenna + associates consisted of the construction of a storey and a half extension to the rear. As a result of the integration of new and old it provides our clients with a beautiful and practical home. The  re-arrangement of the internal spaces to a free flowing, open plan format enabled the design team to meet the project objectives.

This house comprises of;

  • open plan kitchen,
  • lounge/ dining,
  • utility,
  • sitting room,
  • 4 bedrooms and,
  • 3 bathrooms.

In addition, this property is positioned to take in a lot of natural resources such as sunlight and heat throughout the day. As a result, this project transformed a traditional Irish cottage, with limited living space, into a spacious home where light floods the living spaces.

The end result is a stylish and spacious home with a modern interior.
